Today\u00a0I turned forty. No big deal. A small family-lunch last sunday. That’s it.<\/p>\n
Or so I thought.<\/p>\n
Right up untill the moment when I stopped my bike, while turning\u00a0the corner of my house,\u00a0and looked up to what – at this time of year – is normally an empty garden.<\/p>\n
Not so today: in the middle of the garden someone had pulled up a tent, tables and chairs inside, plates, glasses etc. all lined up. And then, in front of this, around 4o friends and relatives, suddenly starting singing\u00a0“happy birthday”, all of them smiling at me. An overwhelming and great surprise.<\/p>\n
Before\u00a0having left\u00a0the office, I was upheld by another -albeit minor – surprise, when\u00a0a handfull\u00a0of my board members and business-contact showed up for a bite of cake and a cup of coffee. Turned out it was all\u00a0iniated by my wife in order to stop me from getting home to early:-) Fantastic day!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
