Big Danish leak week: Information won’t be stopped (Digital view, week 38 2009)

In this weeks issue of Digital view: Life on the Danish internet focuses on leaks, examining why and how the official Danish tourism agency, the Danish Defence and the Danish Broadcasting Corporation failed to stop publishing “unwanted” material.

In all three cases I find that openness would have worked far better than control. My advice? Even in situations where you find yourself behind and feel like you’re having to catch up, don’t go for the remove-it-and-forget-it-ever-existed approach. All to often it’ll backfire on you. Instead put forth your arguments and facts and be ready to answer the questions that might arise.
