As mentioned in a previous post, Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) recently made 9 of Mozart’s symphonies ready for free download. Why? To celebrate his 250 years aninversary.
However DR only gave the downloads away for a limited period. And that period just ended. And when DR settled the score, they found that the nine symphonies had been downloaded a total of 1.118.207 times. (DR press release in Danish here)
How many people actually did those 1,1 mio downloads is not clear. All I know is that I was one of them – and that I managed to get a hold of all 9 of them. So I guess I’ll have to start listening to Mozart now (which I’ve frankly not done that much in the past-:)
