This week Google included maps of Denmark to their map-service (try search Copenhagen at maps.google.com). As for yet it looks like a true beta – the whole search-functionality seems actually not to be working. Neither adresses, products not companies seems to searchable.
However this is yet one more step closer to the Danish Directory-market, with an estimated yearly value of some 25-50 mio euros. The Google Local will, when/if implemented in Denmark pose a serious threath to services like krak.dk, degulesider.dk and eniro.dk.
Krak.dk goes satelite
The move of Google came few days after Krak.dk launched satelite-photos to their map-service. Have a look yourself at www.krak.dk.
Printed Directories drops
At the same time a TNS-survey quoted in danish Newspaper Børsen (premium service) today shows that the use of traditional printed directories for finding product- and compagnis is wearing out – dropping from a 62 pct. Only one year ago to 35 pct. in march 2006.
