Berlingske’s off broadway with new city guide

  • Jon Lund

In a deliberate attempt to behave more like an underground-blogging startup, less than what they really are: a well-established several hundred years old publishing house, Berlingske launched the fully usergenerated Copenhagen city-guide this Friday. The city-guide, kbh360.dk, features a Google map mashed-up with reviews and ratings of bars, restaurants etc. provided by the users of the city.

It looks really cool, I’d say, you should try it yourself (but it’s definitively an advantage to be Danish speaking, although I guess anyone can navigate a map, and read the star-ratings).

Berlingske has been helped out in the process by Connecta – a small consulting firm, that is part of the innercircle of Danish bloggers and who “specialises in helping organisations to tackle complex problems” as they describe themselves on their website.

From a strategic point of view kbh360.dk is interesting as well: Berlingske already has the market-leading what’s-happening-right-now-in-Copenhagen-guide aok.dk. With kbh360.dk they’re filling up what might be a gab in the Danish medialandscape. They’re simply trying off if there’s a market for this service – and if there is, it might go on as it is, or perhaps be integrated in aok.dk itself, if it makes sense. (And why shouldn’t it make sense to enrich aok.dk with user-reviews and ratings? I say it does!).

  1. Thanks Stig, I’ve corrected it now. (I kinda thought I was good at geometry, but somehow I just felt it naturally to talk about 365 istead of 360 degree. Ah, now I know: its off course the 365 as in “days in a year” that confused me. Well, minds work in mysterious ways!)

  2. A friend and I have been working on http://www.storbyliv.dk for quite I while. It’s similar with the above mentioned sites but it differs since it covers the 5 biggest cites.
Also our site is not about rating and commenting on the different cafes and bars. We focus on the events themselves.
