Here’s the ad money, q3 2006

  • Jon Lund

Danish Advertisers Association (website: www.annoncoer.dk) survey of adspend on different Danish media groups just hit the streets just before Christmas. For the first three quaters of 2006 the list goes like this:

1. Newspapers – 2.317.000.000 ddk, 34 %
2. TV – 1.635.000.000 ddk, 24 %
3. Weekly newspapers – 989.000.000 ddk, 14,5 %
4. Internet – 950.000.000 dkk, 13,9 %
5. Specialized press (“fagblade”) – 699.000.000 dkk, 10,2 %
6. Magazines (“ugeblade/magasiner”) – 234.000.000, 3,4 %

The list is made up from reportings of actual spending by advertisers on the different mediagroups. As such the list is interesting, although it might not be the final True story of adspending in Denmark. For example there’s a lot more than 950.000.000 ddk spend on internet in the first three quaters of 2006. This is due to the fact that the above figure does not include revenues on Search marketing, such as Google, which is belived to have acounted for a six digit number Danish Kroners.

The 950.000.000 dkk only covers Display advertising, such as banners, and Marketplace-adspending such as classifieds, auctions, yellowpages and so on. I know this because I myself am the one who have provided the figures on internet adspend, which my organisation collects from the internet media of Denmark.
