No marketing, all word of mouth, this Danish marketplace now has a turnover of 120mio. Danish kroners a year. Check out Trendsales.
Started out as a webshop, but soon found themselves selling far the most from the webshops bazaar – a community-selling forum on the site. Users uploads pictures and descriptions of items they want to sell – and each listing goes with its own dialogue/q and a’s which is heavily used. Buyers and sellers are really communicating about the items.
Now the “Bazaar” is all there is. Much like Google Base – or is it more myspace.com-like? – it appears to me. Only this one started 3 years ago.
