Firefox used by 6,4 pct. in Denmark

New browser-stats from the “Gallup/FDIM Browserbarometer” shows that 6,4 pct. of all unique visitors on Danish websites surfs the web using Firefox.
The figure is based on stats from the 89 websites comprised in the FDIM toplists, containg the vast majority of popular danish web-sites including sites like MSN, Lycos Denmark (Jubii) and DR. This makes the figure highly reliable for the Danish market: when surfing Danish web-sites it’s very unlikely you shouldn’t bump into at least one of the measured sites at least once.

  1. As interesting as this may be, it is also crucial to note from a business perspective that the numbers from Denmark are very loyal to IE compared to other contries according to onestat. (http://www.onestat.com/html/aboutus_pressbox44-mozilla-firefox-has-slightly-increased.html)

Even if these numbers are less valid than the ones from Gallup/FDIM the tendency is still toward a much more aggressiv adaptation of Firefox outside Denmark…

With a markedshare of more than 15 % globally and almost 40 % in Germany Danish companies aiming for an international marked has to take Firefox into account in their online communication.

All in all it currently seems like we are heading back towards “the good old days” where websites had to be developed for two browsers to ensure access to the full business potential.

Only time can tell what will happen when the final version IE 7.0 is sent to marked. But it sure will be interesting to follow.
